Should You Use Organic Make-Up?

Many women want to know if they need to switch to natural cosmetic products. There are plenty of companies, advertisements, and "professionals" who can give you an extremely convincing debate either way. Dr. Roberta Palestine, who did her residency at the Mayo Clinic in dermatology stated, "Organic isn't always better. Synthetic isn't necessarily the worst. Some organic plants such aslikePoison Sumac are not good for you at all…a chemical is a chemical, what makes the difference is your skin type." There are certainly a lot of types of skin out there, and you can bet for every type there's a number of make-up products for that particular kind.

Because of the advancements in makeup, women that are allergic now have an option of buying hypoallergenic cosmetics that are easy on the face. There is no real medical definition for the word hypoallergenic, because dermatologists aren't sure what products will reduce allergens. So are organic cosmetics products all that they are cracked up to be? A brief look at the ingredients list will tell the user what the key ingredients are on a product because they are listed in order of volume ratio. Often times, the ingredients will be listed on the packaging the make-up came in.

Sometimes women will be allergic to a beauty product and not even realize it. Throughout the years, women get used to dry, itchy skin that comes from repeated use of the kinds of cosmetics they wear out in public and to work. A persons face can become very dry from the repeated use of a base makeup used to make the face appear even. People with oversensitive skin should stay away from products with perfumes, mineral oil, formaldehyde, and alcohol. These chemicals will all remove excess moisture from the skin and cause aggravation.

When making the change to different cosmetics many times the skin will have to go through a readjustment time. Therefore women who are contemplating about changing to organic cosmetics should go with it fully. By doing this, the face only has to undergo the adjustment phase a single time. If customers are considering making the switch, it is important to be aware of what's inside a product that claims to be organic. Do a little research before testing out a new cosmetic line to see if it is a trustworthy manufacturer that uses high quality ingredients and stands behind the products they produce. So should you make the switch? It's a matter of personal choice but if you think the products you currently use are affecting your skin, at least consider it.
