When we hear the words "yeast infection" a lot of us think of it as a woman's dilemma. A fluid found in the blood called serum forming mold causes Candida albicans. Hyphe are tentacles that are transmitted from the mold cells when they come in touch with serum. Candida albicans is the species of the fungus that causes yeast infections. The human body is not affected by the majority of these but there are over 100 kinds of Candida albicans and over 100,000 types of fungus. Fungus usually does well in soil, water and damp areas, and instances of decay, such as a rotting tree stump. Fungus needs oxygen to thrive, just like plants and animals.

Candidiasis is the result of fungus increasing and cultivating on the human body. Yeast infection, interestingly, isn't the most accurate term to describe this ailment. You see, fungus can form into either a yeast or a mold form. Fungus that happens singly is known as yeast. As cells form into multiple groups it is known as mold. A yeast infection can normally be defended by the human's natural defenses. when the yeast develops into mold that the body begins to react and we notice that something is wrong.

There are of course more serious cases, but usually a yeast infection is not a severe risk to our health; it's just a serious risk to our comfort.
