What is Going On with Anaerobic Exercise and Why is it Beneficial For You?


Anyone in the world needs to have physical activity. For health and a good quality of living, cardiovascular fitness is necessary no matter who you are. It has diverse benefits and can boost life for people in a variety of varied ways. There are two kinds of cardiovascular activity: aerobic and anaerobic. Why do we need to participate in either of these?

When higher exertion level exercises are done in a shorter amount of time it is referred to as anaerobic exercise. The term anaerobic translates to without air or without oxygen. As the body is worked in very hard activities it creates a chemical called lactic acid to maintain it's energy. aerobic activity is done to enhance endurance, anaerobic exercise is to increase strength for occasions when big levels of energy are essential in a short time.

Even though it builds muscle and lean body mass, generally less calories are burned during an anaerobic workout session than an aerobic session. As more energy is burned with muscle that replaces fat cells, muscle and lean body mass inceaseIncreased muscle mass leads to lost weight and a leaner figure as muscle groups burn more energy than fat cells. A shortage of oxygen to the muscles occurs when you start to exercise anaerobically. With anaerobic training the body can become better equipped to handle fatigue. As the fitness level increases, the body creates less lactic acid and the elimination of it from the body becomes more effective. With fortified muscles, the groups can perform at 12% to fifty percent more efficiently, allowing the body to accumulate greater levels of lactic acid during activities. Aerobic exercise is action that is generally lower in activity level and lengthier in time span. The definition of aerobic means with air or with oxygen. Aerobic exercise is performed to train the body to be more active for longer periods of time. It is often referred to endurance training or cross training. Some aerobic activities are; walking, jogging, cycling, or swimming. A great quantity of oxygen is needed to produce the energy for these exercises and maintain the body’s endurance. Optimal health and improved performance needs aerobic exercise.

The lactic acid that is produced is what causes muscle fatigue. The lactic acid produced must be used up during a rest period before more anaerobic exercise is attempted. The muscles use oxygen to restore the energy burned during anaerobics. Lactic acid removal can become more efficient with training. Some examples of anaerobic exercise are; sprinting, hill climbing, running intervals, jumping rope, and other activities that take large bursts of energy.

Athletes who have already obtained a certain level of fitness and are attempting to raise speed, agility, and power are commonly the ones who participate in anaerobic exercises. People should do a fair amount of aerobic warming up and stretching previous to and after an anaerobic exercise session. It is not recommended to participate in anaerobic exercise if you are pregnant. Also, if you are a novice to exercise, you should start out at about 50% intensity level for your particular fitness level.
