Should Consumers Switch to All-Natural Cosmetics?

Many women want to know if they should to change to natural cosmetic products. There are more than enough companies, advertisers, and "professionals" who can give you an extremely contrasting debate either way. Dr. Roberta Palestine, who did her residency at the Mayo Clinic in dermatology stated, "Natural isn't always the best. Manufactured isn't always the worst. Some natural plants such aslikePoison Sumac are not good for you at all…a chemical is a chemical, what is important is your skin type." There are certainly many of skin types out there, and you can be assured for every type there's a variety of make-up products for that particular kind.

With new advancements in makeup, women that have allergies now have an option of buying hypoallergenic makeup that is easy on the skin. There is no real medical definition for the word hypoallergenic, because doctors aren't sure what products actually reduce allergens. So are organic make-up products all that they are built up to be? A quick look at the ingredients list will tell the consumer what the key ingredients are on a product because they are listed in order of volume ratio. Often times, the ingredients will be listed on the box the make-up came in.

When switching make-ups many times the skin will have to go through an adjustment period. So women who are thinking about changing to natural cosmetics should go with it all the way. By doing this, the skin only has to undergo the adjustment phase one time. If consumers are considering making the adjustment, it is important to be aware of what's inside a product that says it's organic. Do a little research before trying out a new cosmetic line to see if it is a trustworthy company that uses superior ingredients and guarantees the goods they produce. So should consumers make the switch? Not everyone needs to change the makeup they use but if you are experiencing any irritated skin its a good thing to consider. Most females use the same product everyday when they leave the house. This can create dryand irritated skin that most people aren't aware of. Women who apply a foundation make-up to smooth out the skin tone on their faces will dry out and irritate their skin so each day is a bit worse. People with delicate skin should avoid products with perfumes, mineral oil, formaldehyde, and alcohol. These substances will all remove excess moisture from the skin and cause aggravation.
