A Few Truths Pertaining to Candidiasis

At some point in their life the majority of the world's people will be affected by Candidiasis, also called a yeast infection. When we hear the phrase "yeast infection" many of us think of it as a woman's dilemma. The fact is that anyone can come down with a yeast infection whether you are young or old, male or female, or physically fit otherwise. Hands, fingernails, toes, feet, and even under the breasts are just a few of the places people can get yeast infections. So it's important to know exactly what a yeast infection is now that we know that anyone can be affected anywhere.

Mold develops when the yeast Candida albicans comes in contact with serum, a substance in the blood. Upon contact with the serum, yeast transforms into mold and transmits tentacles from it's body named hyphe. The human body breaks down when the hyphe encounter the cells by dispensing poisonous fluid. The hyphe can be driven into the epidermis. This is so they can find more serum and thus develop more mold. If you have noticed an infection that can be seen, this infection has probably already occurred.

As the fungus develops and cultivates on the body, the infection that results is called Candidiasis. Yeast infection, interestingly, isn't the closest term to describe this ailment. You see, fungus can form into either a yeast or a mold . Yeast happens when single cell growth develops in the fungus. Mold is when lots of groups of fungi cells develop. A yeast infection can normally be fought off by the body's natural defenses. People notice something is wrong when the body begins to breakdown and the yeast develops into mold.

Candida is the name of the fungus that is the source of yeast infections. There are over a hundred various kinds of Candida and over 100,000 types of fungus, but the human body usually isn't harmed by most of these. A fungus has specific properties that make it similar but varied from a plant or bacteria. It is kind of a combination of aspects from both plants and animals. Though it without a doubt is similar to a plant more, it does not depend on the sunlight for the acquisition of nutrients, or the process known as photosynthesis. It acquires its nutrients from the elements around it, kind of like a parasite. Fungi gets its nutrients by secreting enzymes that decompose and break down tissue so it can be absorbed by the organism, similar to a tick you might find hooked to you in the forest. Wet places, soil, water, and instances of decay like in a rotting tree stump are all places fungus naturally thrives. Fungus needs oxygen to survive, similar to plants and animals.

The positive news is that taking natural remedies you can usually cure a yeast infection. It is not usually a serious threat to a person's health, just a threat to someone's comfort, even though there are more severe cases. Do a little research and people should be able to cure the affliction and prevent it more in the future.
