Many females want to know if they need to change to natural cosmetic products. Just like any other subject there are great debates from makeup companies and doctors on both sides of this topic. Dr. Roberta Palestine, who did her residency at the Mayo Clinic in dermatology stated, "Herbal isn't always better. Manufactured isn't necessarily the worst. Poison Ivy is organic, but that certainly does not make it goodPoison Sumac are terrible to put on your skin…a chemical is a chemical, what makes the difference is the skin type." There are definitely many of skin types out there, and you can be assured for every type there's a number of make-up products for that particular kind. Because of the advancements in cosmetics, women that have allergies now have an option of purchasing hypoallergenic makeup that is easy on the skin. It should be noted that "hypoallergenic" has no medical definition, as it is still not proven what ingredients reduce allergies. Many people want to know if they are getting what they pay for when buying a natural makeup product. Just glance at the label on the back of the package, there will be a list of ingredients that you can compare to other products. Often women will be allergic to a beauty product and not even realize it. Throughout the years, women get used to dry, irritated skin that comes from repeated use of the kinds of make-up they wear outside and to their jobs. Women who apply a base make-up to even out the skin color on their faces will dry out and irritate their skin so each time is a bit worse. Some makeup products use chemicals such as alcohol, formaldehyde, and mineral oil. These products will remove moisture from the face and can cause aggravation. Ladies should not use these types of makeup if the have sensitive skin whatsoever. When changing make-ups many times the skin will have to go through an adjustment time. Therefore women who are thinking about switching to natural make-up should go with it 100%. By doing this, the skin only has to undergo the adjustment period one time. If consumers are leaning toward making the change, it is important to be aware of what's inside a product that claims to be all natural. Do some research before testing out a new beauty product line to see if it is a reputable company that uses quality ingredients and backs the products they make. So should consumers make the change? It's an issue of personal decision but if you think the goods you now use are affecting your skin, at least consider it.
