Many females want to know if they need to switch to natural cosmetic products. There are plenty of companies, advertisers, and "experts" who can give you a very contrasting argument either way. Dr. Roberta Palestine, who did her residency at the Mayo Clinic in dermatology believes, "Natural isn't always better. Synthetic isn't necessarily the worst. Poison Oak is organic, but that definitely does not make it goodPoison Sumac are terrible to put on your skin…a chemical is a chemical, what is important is your skin type." There are definitely many of types of skin out there, and you can bet for every type there's a number of cosmetic products for that particular kind. Most females use the same product everyday when they go into public. This can cause parchedand itchy skin that most people don't realize. Ladies who apply a base make-up to even out the skin tone on their faces will dry out and irritate their skin so each time is a little worse. Some makeup products use chemicals such as alcohol, formaldehyde, and mineral oil. These products can remove moisture from the face and can cause irritation. Ladies should not use these types of makeup if the have sensitive skin whatsoever. Because of the advancements in makeup, females that have allergies now have an option of purchasing hypoallergenic makeup that is easy on the face. It should be noted that "hypoallergenic" has no official medical definition, as it is yet to be determined what ingredients reduce allergies. So are natural make-up products all that they are built up to be? A quick look at the ingredients list will tell the user what the key ingredients are on a product because they are listed in order of volume ratio. Often times, the ingredients will be listed on the packaging the make-up came in. It is very important to use the new cosmetics and only the new makeup when switching to organic products. The skin needs a certain period of time before it can transition, and this can only happen if it has only applications from the new natural makeup. By doing this, the face only has to go through the adjustment period a single time. If consumers are leaning toward making the adjustment, it is important to pay attention to the ingredients in a product that says it's all natural. Do a little research before trying out a new beauty product line to see if it is a reputable producer that uses superior ingredients and stands behind the products they produce. So should consumers make the switch? It's an issue of personal decision but if you think the goods you currently use are possibly harming your skin, at least consider it.
