Should Women Make The Change to Organic Make-Up?

Many people want to know if they should to switch to natural cosmetic products. Just like any other subject there are great arguments from manufacturers and physicians on both sides of this topic. Dr. Roberta Palestine, who did her residency at the Mayo Clinic in dermatology stated, "Herbal isn't always better. Manufactured isn't always worse. Poison Oak is natural, but that definitely doesn't make it goodPoison Sumac are not good for you at all…a chemical is a chemical, what is important is your skin type." There are certainly many of skin types out there, and you can bet for every type there's a number of make-up products for that particular kind.

Most females use the same makeup everyday when they leave the house. This can cause dryand irritated skin that most women aren't aware of. Ladies who wear a foundation make-up to smooth out the skin color on their faces will dry out and aggravate their skin so each day is a little worse. Some makeup products use chemicals such as alcohol, formaldehyde, and mineral oil. These chemicals can remove moisture from the face and will cause aggravation. Women should not use these products if the have sensitive skin whatsoever.

Because of the advancements in cosmetics, women that have allergies now have an option of purchasing hypoallergenic makeup that is easy on the skin. The term "hypoallergenic" has no medical definition, as it is yet to be determined what ingredients reduce allergens. So are all-natural make-up products all that they are cracked up to be? A brief look at the ingredients list will tell the consumer what the main ingredients are on a product because they are listed in order of volume ratio. Often times, the ingredients will be listed on the box the make-up came in.

It is very important to use the new makeup and only the new cosmetics when switching to organic products. The skin needs a certain period of time before it can transition, and this will only work if it has consistent applications from the new organic makeup. By doing this, the face only has to go through the adjustment phase a single time. If consumers are thinking about making the switch, it is important to pay attention to what's inside a product that claims to be natural. Do some research before testing out a new make-up line to see if it is a trustworthy company that uses quality ingredients and backs the goods they make. So should you make the change? Not everyone needs to switch the makeup they use but if you are have any irritated skin its a good thing to consider.
