Basic Skin Care Solutions

Doctors advocate using the same skin care regimen daily. These routines don't need to be fancy or expensive, and can be used unaided or in conjunction with a more serious skin care product.

The Regimen for Your Skin

Everyone has a different skin type, so the standard routine needs to be fit to work better with your skin. Skin can change from a wide variety of factors such as weather, diet, or age. One change can be a result of menopause, women have been know to change from oily skin to dry skin when going through menopause. A change in the diet can also impact the skin, a diet that has more fat will cause the skin to produce more oil.. people don't need to be as careful when in the sun.

Battling acne with Advanced Medicines

For best skin care results, the basic system is usually insufficient, especially for people over 30. The addition of a well-selected product or 2 with wisely chosen, scientifically proven active ingredients will further improve your results. For secondary products to work well with your routine you must integrate them into the process properly. In particular, if you apply products to skin that has not been cleansed, the effectiveness of active ingredients is reduced. If you use the regimen then apply advanced products, the results of active ingredients may still be reduced because the moisturizer has blocked some the pores.

Common Routines

A normal skin care system would include the following steps: washing/cleansing, toning (optional depending on skin type), moisturizing and protection from the sun light.

The majority of patients have better results with twice daily skin care, however for people with sensitive or dry skin it is better to use it only once and moisturizing more frequently. Most dermatologists agree that the regimen should contain exfoliation, but not in excess. Exfoliation once or twice a week is usually sufficient. People with fast natural epidermal turnover may need less or none at all.

Protection from ultraviolet light (both UVA and UVB) is important for any skin care routine. A good UNA+UVB sunscreen can be applied on top of your moisturizer and other products as the last step of the routine if sun exposure is expected. It is always recommended to use a product made for protection from the sun, however some people like to use cosmetics that contain sunblock to save time.

You want to add secondary products between cleaning and moisturizing when the face is almost dry to create maximum results.. Most of the active products contain some kind of moisturizing compound so the need for additional moisturizer is minimal. If it is needed wait for the other treatments to work before applying anything.
