How Often Should I Eat to Lose the Weight?


More and more Americans, as well as people in all countries, fight with being overweight in some way. In the past couple years people have come to realize a genuine issue that many people are suffering from. Its obesity and its one of the most common issues in our society today. What is causing the obesity outbreak? The citizens of this country are constantly consuming large amounts of unhealthy foods and not working out as much as is needed. As we try to create a solution to this huge issue, serious questions about working out and diet have come with it. Because of the available diets, physicians and scientists have many different opinions on , and how much we should eat.

The possible solution to constant hunger is to try what many professionals say is the best way to consume food now; try five or six small meals throughout the day. The idea is that if you can eat small amounts more frequently you will not snack because you need nutritional supplement every couple of hours. It has also been theorized that the body can only absorb so many nutrients and so much food at one time. If you tend to consume too much at a meal, it may be added to your body as unwanted fat because the body has too many calories. There is nothing more harmful you can do than skip meals all day and eat a big meal at night. This is a huge shock to the metabolism because it is dormant all day then all of a sudden shocked with an oversized meal. This is why some people feel so drained after having dinner at night.

The metabolism only works at the standard rate when it knows that the body has received a safe amount of calories. When you skip a meal or multiple meals, you are sending a message to your metabolism that there is a lack of food and that it should start saving energy. This is why some of us get tired and grumpy when we don't eat. The debate on the amount of meals we should eat will go on for a long time, but the most important thing to remember to do is eating the right amount and at the right times for your metabolism.

To help the metabolism stay consistent stay away from snaking on unhealthy foods, it is important to eat at least three full meals everyday. That doesn't necessarily mean to gorge yourself three times everyday, it just means to maintain your caloric consumption by time instead of going by your body's cravings. To easily reduce the amount of calories consumed everyday it is recommended to cut out unhealthy drinks like soda and coffee, this will help and show fast weight loss.

When it comes to frequency of meals, many experts say that it less important when you eat and more on total caloric intake. If you eat when you experience hunger it may be two meals a day or four. You've probably heard that old saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So why is it the one that everybody skips? Breakfast is important to get the metabolism going in the morning so that it is steadily using calories throughout the day and won't go into hibernation mode throughout the afternoon. Plus, if you skip breakfast in the morning you are more likely to be very hungry when you finally do get a chance to eat and will consume too much food. For those of us who don't eat breakfast you should pay attention to eating healthy foods that you are probably not eating. To get energized from foods with low calories eat low fat dairy products and whole grains any chance you get.

It has been proven by experts that women eat more high calorie foods during the day when they choose not to eat breakfast. This also resulted in a higher level of cholesterol than those who eat healthy in the mornings. Also, females who eat breakfast tended to eat fewer high calorie foods throughout the day to make up for the body's hunger. The hungrier a person is the more likely they will be constantly grazing on snacks and foods that are easy to get and these foods have little or no nutritional value.
