To get energized from foods with few calories eat low fat dairy products and whole grains any chance you get.

Skipping meals is one practice that all professionals will admit is very bad for your health. Our metabolism will react to our diet and intake of calories. The metabolism only works at the standard rate when it knows that the body has consumed a safe amount of calories. When you don't eat a meal or multiple meals, you are telling your body that there is not enough to eat and that it should start conserving energy. This can result in tiredness, a drop in functionality, and possibly irritability. So is the answer to have smaller meals more often? It is likely an argument that we will have for some time, because the main factor that decides how many meals to eat everyday is individual metabolism.

The possible solution to hunger is to attempt what many experts say is the best way to consume food now; try five or six reduced size meals throughout the day. The theory is that if you can consume small amounts more often you will not snack because you need nutritional supplement every few hours. It has also been theorized that we can only take in so many nutrients and so much food at any given time. If you tend to consume too much at one time, it could be added to your body as fat deposits because the body has too many calories. Those of us don't eat all day long then fill up at night are practicing a terrible eating habit. This is a huge surprise to the metabolism because it is dormant throughout the day then all of a sudden shocked with an oversized meal. You may feel sleepy and sluggish for as many as several hours after eating a big meal like this at night.

Professionals think eating three meals a day is healthier than consuming all the calories you need in a day at a certain time because it will reduce snacking between meals. You don't have to gorge yourself three times everyday, it just means to maintain your caloric intake by time not by going by your body's hunger. To easily reduce the amount of calories consumed everyday it is recommended to not drink unhealthy drinks like soda and coffee, this will help and show fast results.

It has been proven by experts that females consume more high calorie foods throughout the day when they choose not to eat breakfast. These females had higher levels of cholesterol than women who ate a good breakfast each morning. Also, women who eat breakfast tended to eat fewer high calorie foods throughout the day to make up for the body's hunger. The hungrier a person is the more likely they are to eat snacks and foods that are more readily available and these foods have little or no nutritional value.
