At some point in their life or another the majority of the world's people will be affected by Candidiasis, also known as a yeast infection. Many of us think of a woman's affliction when we hear the words "yeast infection". The fact is that everyone, young and mature, man and woman, can contract this fungal infection on lots of places in or on the body. Hands, fingernails, toes, feet, and even around the breasts are just a few of the areas people can get yeast infections. So now that we know that anybody can get a yeast infection practically everywhere, it's important to know exactly what a yeast infection is.

Candida is the title of the fungus that is the source of yeast infections. The human body is not affected by the majority of these but there are over one-hundred kinds of Candida albicans and more than one-hundred thousand types of fungus. Germs and plants have similar aspects that differ from fungus. It is kind of a mixture of aspects from plants and animals. Photosynthesis, the process plants go through to turn sun rays to nutrients, is not an aspect of fungus who does not depend on this. It gets its nutrients from the elements around it, a lot like a parasite. Fungi obtains its nutrients by secreting enzymes that destroy and break down tissue so that it can be absorbed by the organism, similar to a tick you might find hooked to you out in the woods. Fungus naturally thrives in dirt, water and wet areas, and instances of decay, such as a rotting tree stump. Fungus has to have oxygen to live, just like plants and animals.

Candidiasis is the result of fungus increasing and flourishing in the body. Interestingly enough, the term "yeast infection" is not a totally accurate description of the affliction. You see, fungus can form into either a yeast form or a mold form. Fungus that occurs singly is called yeast. When cells develop into a lot of groups it is known as mold. Regularly, the human body can defend itself against the yeast form of Candida albicans. when the yeast forms into mold that the body begins to react and people observe that something is not right.

A substance in the blood named serum forming mold causes Candida albicans. Hyphe are tentacles that are transmitted from the mold when they come into touch with serum. The human body breaks down when the hyphe encounter the cells by secreting toxic fluid. The skin can be driven into the hyphe. This is so they can find more serum and thus produce more cells. The infection has already happened by the time you notice an infection.

The positive news is that implementing natural treatments you can usually cure a yeast infection. It is not usually a real threat to a person's health, just a menace to a person's comfort, even though there are more serious cases. You should be able to prevent it in the future once you've conducted a little research.
