Different Facts About Yeast Infections

At some time in their life or another the majority of the earth's population will have to deal with Candidiasis, otherwise known as a yeast infection. Many of us picture a woman's problem when we hear the phrase "yeast infection". The reality is that anybody can come down with a yeast infection whether you are young or old, man or woman, or physically fit otherwise. Hands, fingers, toes, feet, and even under the breasts are just a few of the places people can get yeast infections. So it's important to know exactly what a yeast infection is now that we know that anybody can get one anywhere.

Mold forms when the yeast Candida albicans comes in contact with serum, a fluid in the blood. Upon touching the serum, yeast transforms into mold and dispatches tubes from it's body named hyphe. The human body breaks down when the hyphe encounter the cells by secreting poisonous fluid. The hyphe can penetrate the epidermis. This is so they can locate more serum and thus produce more mold. The infection has already happened by the time you notice an outbreak.

Candida albicans is the title of the fungus that is the source of yeast infections. The human body is not harmed by the majority of these but there are over one-hundred types of Candida albicans and more than one-hundred thousand types of fungus. A fungus has specific aspects that make it similar but different from a plant or bacteria. It is kind of a combination of characteristics from both plants and animals. Though it without a doubt resembles a plant more, it does not rely on the sun's rays for the acquisition of nutrition, or the process known as photosynthesis. It acquires its nutrients from the environment around it, kind of like a parasite. Fungi gets its nutrition by secreting enzymes that decompose and break down tissue so that it can be absorbed by the organism, similar to a chigger you would find attached to you in the forest. Damp places, soil, water, and decay like in a decomposing tree stump are all spots fungus usually does well. Fungus needs oxygen to live, just like plants and animals.

As the fungus increases and thrives on the body, the infection that results is known as Candidiasis. Interestingly enough, the term "yeast infection" is not an entirely accurate description of the affliction. You see, fungus can form into either a yeast form or a mold . Fungus that occurs by itself is called yeast. Mold is when multiple groups of fungi cells develop. A yeast infection can normally be defended by the human's natural defenses. People notice something is not right when the body starts to react and the yeast develops into mold.

If all these facts make you a little queasy, rest assured that usually with a little knowledge about what to do you can heal a yeast infection pretty easily using natural remedies. It is not normally a serious threat to someone's health, just a threat to a person's comfort, even though there are more severe cases. You should be able to prevent it in the future after you've done a bit of research.
