Sorbet

I wish I understood why blood oranges are so much better than other oranges. Whatever the reason, the superiority carries over to sorbet. [You can find blood orange sorbet at the Ciao Bella that has opened next to the law school, and which provides the perfect afternoon refreshment on warming days.]

The pressing question is what kind of sorbet to combine with blood orange. The gentleman at the counter suggested chocolate, which turned out pretty well but overwhelmed the crispness of the blood orange. His second suggestion was passion fruit which seemed improbable. This may require an unfortunate amount of experimentation-- maybe I should go back to espresso.
