These bad toxins are called xenoestrogens and they often trigger a condition named Estrogen Dominance. What is Estrogen Dominance? Simply explained, it is when the ratio of Estrogen and Progesterone becomeout of balance and you have higher levels of estrogen, compared to progesterone. There are multiple problems in our modern community that create this imbalance including birth control pills, caffeine, alcohol and xenoestrogens (which are caused by external toxins and pollutants like detergents, pesticides, plastics etc.), as well as decreased liver function and sometimes stress! This can be a very serious problem because it can involve poor memory, weight gain, darkened skin pigmentation, water retention and other problems. Estrogen Dominance also raises the risk of some lifestyle diseases like cancer, fibrocystic breasts, breast cancer, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and much more. Some of us believe that this is an issue effecting mostly older people, but the facts are that it is starting to effect many as early as 20! How can we fix this problem? One of the most important changes you can make is losing weight if you are overweight, since it triggers a vicious cycle of hormonal imbalances and weight gain, mostly in the abdominal area.

But of course, how you lose weight is equally as important, if not more, than only losing weight. If you lose weight following unhealthy crash diets, you might be unbalancing your hormones even more. Don't use starvation as a diet, always go slow and steady while keeping a healthy diet. If instead of following a bad diet, you maintain a healthy diet you will not only lose weight, but will get many health perks as well. There are also many anti aging benefits to eating healthy and losing weight. After you start eating healthy your body will balance out and this causes the aging process to slow down from where it would be if your body was full of chemicals from bad food. Eating well also assists promoting anti-aging by lowering cholesterol and triglycerides to healthy levels.
